Mr Kumpata joined the Trust on 2nd March 2015 as Operations Officer, having worked briefly in the public service as Planning Officer in the Office of the Ombudsman (2013) and Foreign Services Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014-2015).

Mr Kumpata has been instrumental in implementing the mandate of the Trust by supporting the management and analysis of the Trust fund and appraising new commercial investments. On the socio-economic development front, Mr Kumpata has successfully implemented several projects across the country in the key sectors of education and health.

He also assists in procurement and sits on the Internal Procurement Committee.

Mr. Kumpata was promoted to the position of Operations Manager in April 2024. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences (Economics) from the University of Malawi and a Masters Degree in Development Practice from the University of Botswana. Mr Kumpata also holds a Post Graduate Certificates in Investments Management from the University of Cape Town and Project Development, Monitoring and Evaluation from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
